Meditation Helped Me to Reduce 50 Pounds

Jolie Franks considered meditation to assist her deal with stress and negative emotions. She never imagined it would also help her lose 50 pounds.

For a long time, Jolie used food to bar out memories of her painful, unhappy childhood. Eating made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. It had been her method of showing herself kindness and love. However it came in a price: when she reached her twenties, she weighed 13st 6lb.

Even while, Jolie's emotional pain continued to fester inside her. It finally found a head within an explosive confrontation together with her husband.
At that time, Jolie realised that she could no more ignore what had happened to her growing up. It wasn't only driving her to overeat, it had been also undermining her spiritual well-being like a mother, wife and business proprietor.

Jolie immediately sought specialist. She learned a range of coping skills, including meditation. Now, rather than running towards the refrigerator when she gets bad, she heads for any quiet room.
For some minutes, she times the outside world and tunes directly into her innermost thoughts and emotions. She tries to recognize what's really bothering her, then understands how to approach the actual problem without embracing food.

Today, at 34, Jolie runs a non-profit organisation that provides personal counselling and career support for sexually abused women. She credits a mix of meditation and prayer with helping her turns her lifetime around.

Additionally, it helped her lose fat: she keeps a healthy weight of 9st 121b.
