Pilates
Pilates involves deep muscle training based on the princi-ples of German personal trainer Joseph Pilates.
Pilates allows you to create a strong 'core' (body centre), consisting of the deep stomach muscles combined with the muscles closest towards the spine, thus protecting the spine and keeping the pelvis cor-rectly aligned.
You'll be shown matwork exercises that you could perform yourself, at home, and reformer exercises that require to become performed on the bit of studio equipment known as a reformer [see above).
Pilates could be great for developing a toned and sleek body without bulk, as well as an excellent type of exercise for giving you better posture and helping correct muscle alignment, however it has little cardiovascular value.
