Stress Hormones
Tension - regardless of whether physical or psychological - can wreak havoc with weight loss by releasing the so-called 'stress hormones' to cope with what are the body perceives being an emergency. If tension is keeping you awake through the night, your Cortisol levels increase, encouraging the body to change to some fat-storing mode.
Studies on animals and humans have indicated that depriving them of sleep increased both appetite and food consumption. If you do not think you are able to lower your tension levels your self, by exercising, or maybe meditation, then call at your physician.
